An Aesthetics Practitioner is an Aesthetics Practitioner

Here at the International Beauty Association we don’t believe in Medic/Non Medic - instead we believe in Safe High Standards of Training for learners 💯

An Aesthetics Practitioner is an individual who has trained to focus on skin and skin health, understanding how the skin functions and the options and treatments that are available to help clients improve and optimise their skin.

The range of non-surgical cosmetic treatments available is constantly expanding, making this an exciting industry to be involved in. Aesthetics is all about the application of the latest science and technology to help achieve aesthetic improvements for clients. The techniques required tend to be more advanced than those involved in beauty therapy but there are also opportunities to develop a niche set of skills and become a specialist in a specific area of Aesthetics, such as skin peeling or laser re surfacing. Training in the field of aesthetics will often include an understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as the risks and benefits of the treatments that are involved 👏🏼

Nurse 👩🏻‍⚕️ Doctor 👨🏻‍⚕️ Ambulance 🚑 Medics are all accepted to teach Aesthetics with IBA Accreditation ✅

And so are “Non Medics” - this term refers to those who have studied Beauty Therapy and want to progress to Aesthetics ✅

It is crucial that pre requisites are checked and NO fast track bundle courses are offered - an example of this is 17 courses in three days. IBA feels this is not Ethical and we have worked closely with our insurance companies to ensure that our Training Schools offer a safer pathway to aesthetics 💯

We believe that before you enter the industry you will need a Level 3 in either Beauty or Anatomy & Physiology with Microneedling or Microblading and you cannot go onto to do an Aesthetics Course until 6 months after you have qualified. Level 4 SPMU, Level 4 Beauty and Level 4 Laser will also be accepted 👏🏼This shows that you are competent in Anatomy and Needle work before moving onto Injection Techniques 💉

Look out for the Level 5 Aesthetics Course coming 2021 which will offer the correct path into the industry 💉

You will need to have two years experience in Aesthetics before Teaching Aesthetics and following our Guidelines 🤍

Whether you class yourself as a Medic or Non Medic; pictures of your work will be requested as well as pictures of your Training Schools or where you intend to train your learners 📸

IBA’s main GOAL is to raise the standards in the Industry 📈📈📈
